The lower strap of a talurhei U-brace with air chambers can be replaced by a Rhei pronation strap raising the outer edge of the foot. This will provide additional stability to the forefoot area. Depending on the situation, the brace can be worn with a Rhei pronation strap or with a distal circular strap.
The air cushion built into the Rhei pronation strap runs under the forefoot and serves as a pronation wedge. Each step triggers a pumping effect that can be measured. This pumping effect helps to reduce swellings. The U-brace provides medial and lateral support to the ankle joint (on the inside as well as on the outside) while allowing a great degree of flexion and extension. This allows for a normal course of movement.
The air chambers pad the supports; uncomfortable pressure is avoided. Thicker padding at both ankles provides higher pressure at the bottom third of the supporting area. This applied pressure, decreasing from the bottom towards the top, helps swellings to be reduced more rapidly.
The air chambers consist of a skin-friendly polyurethane sheeting and an inner core made of PU foam filling. These materials have proven their worth in the clinical environment. The entire product is PVC-free and free of plasticizers.

Loose ankle joints caused by severe ankle distortion.
Conservative or postoperative rehabilitation of ligament ruptures.
