Spinal Orthesis

The MKS Osteo spinal orthesis is easy to handle, is extremely comfortable to wear and provides maximum stabilization of the entire spine in accordance with the indications.

Mode of operation

The MKS Osteo spinal orthesis is based on the reclination or 3-point principle. The straightening up of the vertebral column with the two shoulder straps relieves specific areas of the thoracic spine. The abdominal pressure exerted against the back plate by the broad body belt results in a delordozation of the lumbar spine and a relief in this area. The reclination straps are attached to the body belt via additional lateral straps, leading to a limitation of rotation and thus to an even better stabilization of the entire spine.

Indications

• vertebral fracture in osteoporosis
• pain caused by poor posture (e.g. rounded shoulders)
• stable or stabilized fractures
• stabilization in spondylitis
• stabilization in tumours
• post-operative stabilisation
• muscular insufficiency

Characteristics

• Thanks to its incorporated aluminium profile, the back plate can be adjusted to the patient for an ideal fit and provides a very stable base onto which the reclination straps and the body belt are attached.
